Project overview

Modular housing translated into a precise factory-to-site workflow.

Tomino, in the province of Pontevedra, is composed of four modules. ERGIO produced the timber structure as separate prefabricated panels, which were then joined into complete modules in a factory in Spain.

After module assembly, the units were transported to site and connected into a balanced, modern 126 m² home. The joining process took only a matter of days, demonstrating how modular construction can compress site time while maintaining dimensional coordination.

Modular strategy

Four modules, one coordinated residential system.

The project separates production, module assembly, transport and final site joining into controlled stages.

01

Panel production

ERGIO manufactured the timber structure as separate factory-prepared panels.

02

Module assembly

The panels were joined into four complete modules in a Spanish factory.

03

Transport

Completed modules were transported to the final residential site.

04

Final joining

The four units were connected together in a matter of days.

Why this project matters

Modular construction turns factory precision into site speed.

Tomino shows how a larger residential footprint can be broken into transportable, repeatable units without losing architectural coherence.

01

Predictable interfaces

Panel and module connections are resolved before the units reach the site.

02

Reduced site time

Most assembly work is shifted away from the final building location.

03

Dimensional control

Factory production helps the modules fit together accurately during final installation.

04

Scalable logic

The same modular workflow can support repeated residential or multi-unit programmes.

Factory-to-site workflow

Panels become modules. Modules become a house.

The defining strength of Tomino is the sequence: precise panel fabrication, controlled module assembly, transport and rapid final joining.

01

Production data

The project is translated into panel-level manufacturing information.

02

Panel prefabrication

ERGIO manufactures the timber components as coordinated panels.

03

Module completion

Panels are assembled into four transportable modules in Spain.

04

Final installation

The modules are positioned and connected on site to complete the residence.
